Kuala Krai MP's Car Burned



KUALA LUMPUR: A car belonging to Kuala Krai Member of Parliament Dr Mohd Hatta Md Ramli was damaged, believed to have been set ablaze, today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations, Mohd Sani Harul, said six firemen rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.12 am.

"The incident occurred at Persiaran 1, Desa Aras Ampang, Selangor and involved a Toyota Fortuner car," he said in a statement today.

He said there was no report of a casualty.

Meanwhile, Ampang police chief ACP Khairuldin Saad said preliminary investigation revealed two individuals arriving at the scene and then left in a car.

"Police found a piece of wood wrapped with cloth ad traces of petrol at the scene," he said in a statement today.

He said the MP and eight family members were in the house when the incident occurred. –Bernama
